Michael (Mike) Grygiel

Mike Grygiel was born at Ft Lewis, Washington. He spent his childhood as a military “Brat” and traveled across the country and Europe as his family was reassigned. He is a Graduate of West Point and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mike has had a military career in the Corps of Engineers and, after leaving the military, as an engineer in the power industry. As an adult he has lived all over the US, in Korea and in Panama. His formal art training is in drafting. His fine art skills are self-acquired. It was in Panama that he became interested in marine art. The Panama Canal provided a wealth of subject matter. Mike’s work has been shown nationally and has been included in the collection aboard the USCG Barque, Eagle. He currently lives with his wife in Richland, Washington. He is a member of the Pacific Rim Institute of Marine Artists, The American Society of Marine Artists, The Coast Guard Artist Program and the Puget Sound Group of Northwest Artists.
